weary but super fine

3/18/23

I am tired, but in a good way. I’ve done today the things I generally like
doing and some I don’t do often, probably because I dislike doing them,
but so love having gotten them done.

I cleaned up downstairs. (lately, before I let Helo have at it with the
floor, I sprinkle the rugs with ground cloves. I am finding myself quite
brilliant in this. a little goes a long way) Then I let the little robot
do all the work while I sit and work on the computer. I do have to rescue him a
few times because he gets stuck in some tight places his programming won’t
allow him to figure out, but he does a capital job. Of course, I dusted first,
and dragged out the dustmop to dig stuff out to make way for Helo, but once he got started, I got to work on this new website (!!)

I have another bot upstairs—Herman. I have not yet developed the same kinship with
him. (will I have to name him Helo, too?”)

Can it be proper to give 2 bots the same name?

I cooked some lentils, red onion, carrots, and brown rice. It’s spiced with
coriander, cumin seeds, turmeric, red pepper, methi. I finished it with fresh
lemon juice (a whole lemon I think).

I made the Israeli salad, but it’s becoming much chunkier, not so neat as
when you take time to cut the red onion, the cucumbers, and the tomatoes into
tiny cubes. I’m not going to turn out to be that patient! This is loaded with
curly parsley and cilantro, spiced with a little garlic and a lot of sumac,
teeny bit of salt, loads of black pepper, and about 1 ½ lemons. (oh my goodness
good!)

Oh. Also–Some olive oil as you like. Today I used 2 med. cucumbers, ¾ large red onion,
about 16 grape tomatoes, and 1 med. slicing tomato. I ended up with about 4
cups.

And about this SUMAC! I just started using it after buying THE SHUK. It is
so different. Wild and earthy and bright and rich. It has a sweet taste when I
put a bit on my tongue. It is not a hot spice.  More tangy. (the name “sumac” comes from the Aramaic word, “summaq,” which means “dark red.” before lemons made their way into Europe, the ancient Romans used sumac to add a tanginess to dishes)

love i love it love it. wonder what all i can used it in?

played 2 games of Magic and Dale and James.

Dale and I watched PICARD.

And I culled my wardrobe even further. Tightening it. “What do I actually wear in a week?” “Can I possibly wear 11 pairs of pants?” “When is the last time I even wore this?” “Will I even notice if this shirt is gone?” “Does this actually fit me right now? Me, not some hoped-for future version of me.”

There is much to be said, but it will keep for another day.

Just now I am so pleased to have a working version of my new WordPress website up and running. Wondrous.

It’s Saturday night. 11:26. The shank of the night.

The shank of the week.
