I really, really want my planner to get here. So I can start planning in detail. And yes, I know I must remind myself that this planning notion is to simplify my life, not over-complicate it. But planning can and, I think, ought to be fun–I can decorate the pages if I wish. It comes with stickers and inserts. I am eager to get started.

And I need to take care of my calendar situation. I bought an Audrey Hepburn calendar to replace the one in the bathroom where I keep track of my migraines and dry eye and estrogen dosing, etc. But it doesn’t fit!! Just a bit too long and really just too big. So I will find a spot for it. I also bought a large wall calendar and I realize I likely have too many calendars. I also bought a new calendar (a WET erase one) for the fridge. I wish the squares were bigger but finding a wet erase one was not easy.

I am/we are in the process of finding and buying a new range, an Induction one. But I have misgivings and I really, really want a double oven. But I just now found this–

A microwave that bakes and air fries. I believe that this would just about make my life happier. Because I really want to get rid of my little oven that sits on the counter–and there’s a chance, just a chance, that I can toast my bagels in the air fryer which was the whole point of getting the little oven which we use it ALL. THE. TIME. But it takes up so much space.

We are getting an induction range with some bells and whistles, but it’s the budget buy and I fear that if we don’t pop for one of the more expensive models I will have issues. These stovetops also make noises–buzzes, clicking, and gods only know what else. This would drive me insane. Luckily a friend just got the stove we’re thinking about and I can try it out. The noises the things make have a lot to do with the pans you use, but also a lot to do with how they generate power. I don’t understand it all, but as I consider this I think of an MRI machine, which also uses magnets to generate power and it makes all kind of noise. Related? Go to the research.

Part of me really just wants a better gas stove and proper ventilation. But I recently left a back burner on all day and didn’t realize it. This was not a big deal but James does use the microwave and could have burned himself. The flame also could have blown out (it was on very low). This has happened before and there have been no gas leaks, but it could happen. This is a new issue; I have almost left it on other times. I use the Moka pot to make my coffee now and I use that low-power back burner. The flame on low is really hard to see.

And gas is being linked to all sorts of health problems, esp. headaches which is totally me. I wonder, as my stove has aged, if more gas fume is getting into the house. Could that be the reason for my headaches?

Enough about all this. I couldn’t sleep last night and felt a migraine creeping up and took knock-out meds. I also had a migraine last evening.

Bah.
