After years of planning for, and failing at, capsule wardrobing, I have settled on a capsule that is based on dresses. I pair dresses with leggings and cardigans, so they work quite well for Tennessee chilly weather. It rarely gets really cold here, and as I don’t spend much time outdoors anyway, the coat/sweaters that I have are plenty. I would like to cull things down even more, asking myself all this coming year, the necessary capsule wardrobe question–Am I actually wearing this?

Wishlist/Planning for the Future
Over this year, I would like to let go of all my sweaters and coats. I am bored with black, with solid colors. But this feels a bit like a whim at this point, so I want to really consider it. For instance, I bought a jean jacket last year–and I’ve never worn it. Why? Because I decided I didn’t like it, because it wasn’t comfortable, because it made me look too large? Or is it because I just don’t need it, like the blazers. I love the blazers, but I never wear them. What I do wear are cardigans, but I am no longer in love with these boring basics. But I keep these because they have collars and having a color on my garments is so important now. I’m 61, and I have a little hump of fat just below the nape of my neck. Collars keep this off my mind. So what I will be getting are jackets/coats/sweaters like these~
