i have participated in some small social gatherings--Dinner(by which we mean lunch) on New Year's Eve with my dad and brother. It was a small bites dinner that turned out to be awesome--a wee bit of mac and cheese, black-eyed peas, green beans, broccoli rice casserole, mashed potatoes, ham, chicken fingers. I thought I had ordered plenty but I ordered exactly NOT ENOUGH which turned out to be the perfect amount.
New Year's Day dinner (by which we mean lunch) was marvelous. Linda Sue cooked the peas and greens, but Dale cooked up the MEATS. Brisket. Salmon. Ribs. With some Spanish Rice. Lanie brought some hot bread. Dale made turtle brownies. It was so much fun. I allowed myself a bit of wine and Linda Sue actually tried and actually LIKED the Jager.
I was able to sit long enough to play Pandemic with Dale, Net, and Alex. This is our ongoing project.
And I really am getting better every day. I can lift my leg now and when I stand it doesn't wear me out like it did. I'm still on pain meds and will be for at least a couple more weeks, but I cannot wait to stop them. My brain would like to go wild again.
When I come back I hope to be able to lift my leg from floor to sofa without help.
