Fifty-one years ago I was born on a Sunday Sunday Sunday another year unto heaven the great dome of sky Jesus and God work together to keep it stitched up to keep it from falling in, Little Chicken.
Happy Birthday to ME! I went shopping with Linda Sue on Friday and I bought myself 3 candles from White Barn lovely candles.
Yesterday we went shopping at a little gallery/boutique on the South Side and I bought an infinity scarf not because I wear scarves but because it was so beautiful full of horses and grey sky. And it is so large I think I will wear it as a skirt.
And I bought myself a new coffee cup with a lid and quite girly that makes me feel like my friend Lanie like I am her sitting in her house being her; also, being myself with her while at her house over coffee.
And I bought Linda Sue some wreathes for her Xmas candles.
Then we ate at Tony's (Dale joined us). Then we bought little desserts at Rembrandt's. Then we went to the River View Gallery, which I always love. There was a Blacksmith/Artist there etching a vase which will be a dark copper though I'd rather the bright gold. Such beautiful things and boxes, too.
What I wanted to buy at the gallery--"My Favorite Shirt My Favorite Snack." A colorful bust of rabbit with a shirt covered in carrots. He was also clutching a carrot to his chest. I did not buy him. He was $800 dollars. Also, my house will not hold many more things.
The new flatware is lovely and long overdue. Our last was circa 1998 and not 18/10. Rusting now and pitting cannot scrub it out.
Here, the bizarre/elegant is 18/10, the rustic is 18/0--
I believe this is plenty enough Birthday and Xmas. And Xmas shopping should be simple. James will want movies/books from Amazon. Alex will likely want cash. A couple more things for Linda Sue. Something for Brian, likely cash. Dale and I do not buy for each other and we don't exchange gifts with Paw Paw now though I am framing a photo of him with the boys and putting it into an old truck picture frame. Something for my brother. Something for Annette. A few little gifts for close friends.
And then there is the thought of the party, which is our gift to friends. Intimate I think. No pressure I think. Simple I think maybe soup potato soup with rustic bread. Butter. Cheese. Maybe a Bouch de Noel. I haven't done that in years. And singing singing singing.
A small gathering for EFM. Only whisky for these guys. And singing singing singing.
Good Great Lord. I just looked up and the sky was orange and rainbow again. Jumped up to take photos. I think next time I will just go and look at it. But really. ANOTHER rainbow sky. And on my BIRTHDAY no less. Sunday Sunday.
